The
art of knowing how, and when, to intervene.
After
the Cunsultive and Diagnostic processes have lead to an accurate
diagnosis, the next step is to formulate the right approach.
Many chronic pain patients arrive at our practice in a state
of clinical depression. Not at all uncommon for people who have
not slept for months due to pain. On the contrary, a cancer
patient with a 6-month prognosis may not want to spend the balance
of what time they have left in a narcotic induced sleep.
Determining
the correct approach to intervention and treatment is a "critical
core competency" of the practice. Whether a patient's condition
is best treated with therapy, trigger point injections, implanted
pumps that inject timed dosing into the spine, traditional drugs,
percutaneous (killing sympathetic nerves) procedures, or a combination
of the above, we can find a way to balance your treatment with
your goals, and your life's day-to-day activities!
